Just more digital coloring practice. With this one, I used a different coloring style, and added more shinies.

I really like how this turned out (minus the hair), but I probably will only use this style to color chibis.

Her outfit is symbolic to the story where she is from. (Basically, she wears neutral colors [since she's a servant] until she is forced into marriage. She wears red and gold because the wealthy are the only ones who wear them.) Her name also means 'rose', so the color red goes with her name.

I love her shiny cheeks and knees, XDD.

Lazy background is lazy, XD.

Really? Thanks! ^^ Haha, the shinies (I don't know what else to call them) on her skin are what I'm the most proud of.

Any tips for digital coloring? (I just started this month, and I'm up for trying different styles.)

Well, my tips for coloring digitally would be to go nuts with the colours. XD Experiment and use different colours instead of one colour and a darker/lighter shade of it for shading and lighting. But I think you're doing a very good job with it, so I guess the only advice I have is to be patient. XD Some parts are less fun to draw/colour than others, but with some patience, it can really pay off!

I think that's all I can offer. :XD:; Personally, I'd like to say that if you're unhappy with how a piece turns out, keep changing it until you're happy with it, but I'm afraid that people might push themselves over their limits with this advice... D:

As for styles... Maybe you can try copying a style of an artist? Try to learn how they colour by looking at their pictures. Just to get a hang of it and see what technique fits you better and which techniques you don't like.

Sorry I'm not much help... I'll try coming up with more things!

Thanks! I'll plan on making the shading darker in my next colored piece.
Ugh, I hate coloring skin so much, XD. (My characters are pretty pale, so I'm paranoid about them looking too tan...) Hair (especially pale blonde hair) is also a pain. (Do you have any coloring tips for characters with pale blonde hair?)

I agree; that makes a lot of sense. Most of the time, once I finish a piece, there's something about it I want to fix, so I'm always up for editing later.

That's a good idea, too! ^^

Actually, you helped a lot! Thanks for the awesome tips!
